Bodrum Blue

Turkish Cuisine

An over-water restaurant with views of the northern islands and a gentle salty breeze to cool off in the summer? That’s our kind of place. Open for rosé or raki-fuelled lunches and festive dinners (and the occasional brunch!), Bodrum Blue serves typical Turkish dishes made using fresh-from-the-sea seafood, the most delicious produce and carefully-sourced meats. And just wait until you bite into a slice of baklava. With Turkey being a pioneer of gastronomy with a rich food culture, it’s no surprise that Bodrum Blue is a favourite.

Mezze, pide, grilled octopus, raki, nutty baklava… Savour a Turkish feast inspired by vibrant Istanbul and idyllic Bodrum right on the water.

Chef Bilal Tasdemir: I’m a Turkish chef with over 15 years of experience. My career has taken me to Kazakhstan, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and, finally, Mauritius. Food is a universal language that builds bridges and connects people. I love experimenting in the kitchen, but my specialty is traditional Turkish cuisine.

Location: Grand Gaube

Grand Gaube, a fishing village located about 10 km northeast of Grand Baie on the northeast coast of Mauritius, is famous for its bays and rocks emerging from the water’s surface.

Beyond the beauty of its beaches, Grand Gaube seduces with its irresistible charm. The village reflects a rich colonial ambiance, evoking a bygone era. The streets are lined with colorful traditional houses, and local craft shops contribute to its unique character.

Bisou

One word. Two syllables. Bisou. Say hello to the island’s most coveted rooftop. With its infinity pool, restaurant and bar, Bisou is the promise of a really, really good time.

Rooftop Bar & Restaurant

Grand Baie’s legendary lagoon looks even better from up here. Relax in one of the cabanas poolside. Yes, there’s an infinity pool, and it’s over 30 meters long. Sip cocktails while lunch is served at your in-water table. The cuisine up here is a creative mix of tapas from the world’s favourite cuisines. Full of flavours and colours. Even though it’s a grown-up area only, Bisou isn’t all drinking and dining. During the day, a deejay plays mellow, easy-to-listen-to beats. Come nightfall, when the sky turns blazing pink and orange, the music is turned up a notch. Bisou checks all the boxes for a perfect day and night out.

Open to adults only during the day. Open to children to dine when accompanied by their parent/s.

Location: GRAND BAIE

Grand Baie is a fishing village located in the north of Mauritius. It is renowned for its heavenly beaches, luxury hotels, and vibrant nightlife. It’s a favourite spot for locals and travellers alike, who find it offers a pleasant quality of life and a host of activities. It’s also a popular marina thanks to its sheltered location, thanks to the bay.

Beach Rouge

For the very first time, Beach Rouge becomes the main restaurant, day and night. It’s Beach Rouge, revisited.

Beach Club & Restaurant

Both a beach club and a restaurant, Beach Rouge evolves and transforms throughout the day. The à la carte breakfast is as creative as it is delicious. Lunches are long and festive, bringing people together around Mediterranean cuisine. And when the sun sets, the restaurant lights up in an electric red, from which it takes its name. This change of atmosphere invites the most festive of guests for an aperitivo at one of our three bars, a dinner by the beach, and why not a few dance steps to the rhythm of the resident DJ? Beach Rouge is a place in perpetual turmoil. And just wait until you see the events calendar! For a moment, you’ll be transported to the bohemian-chic atmosphere of Ibiza or the crystal-clear coast of Mykonos.

As relaxing as the vacation may be, we ask that you wear a layer of clothing over your swimsuit in our restaurants. In the evening, island chic attire is required (no flip-flops!).

PS: We also love our striped bathrobes but let’s save them for the spa and bedroom.

C Beach Club

C beach club is the first Nikki Beach style club in Mauritius.

Appealing to all age groups the C has a casual chic vibe and offers water and beach sports including a kite surfing school, swimming pool, enticing boutiques, a teens club and younger children’s entertainment. Attracting a mix of locals and visitors, C is popular for its international DJ nights and has achieved the status of being the islands premier stylish destination for sun, sea, sand and fun.

Lantern lit, palm tree edged tiled foyer leads into a welcoming space with a warm and rustic feel – expect rattan, thatch and greenery. Outdoor beach club with lounge area overlooking the sea offers white day beds and loungers. Pool with bridge connects beach to club.

Coast Beach Bar has a great choice of smoothies, wine and rum, alongside cocktails mixed by accomplished mixologists. Chill Gin Bar is a haven for gin lovers with its extensive range of gins from around the world. For those who enjoy rose wine, Calanca wine cellar is the only place in Mauritius to offer a wine list with 80% of the choice being rose wines from around the world. As you would expect from any decent Beach Club, champagne is well represented.

Two restaurants, Cyan open for dinner and Coast open all day. Coast features light dishes in the day, pizzas, salads, tapas etc., best suited for lazy days on the beach and around the pool. In the evening the menu changes to Italian cuisine. Cyan serves an “around the world” buffet every evening.

In the day time, relax on a lounger or at a table on the beach and have lunch brought to you. However, in the evening, we suggest you opt for one of the candlelit tables alongside the edge of the pool.

Please note, if you are not staying at one of the Heritage properties, you will have to purchase a day pass.

Location: Domaine de Bel Ombre, adjacent to Heritage Le Telfair, on the south coast of the island.

Buddha-Bar Beach

The first Buddha-Bar to open in Mauritius is an ideal all-day venue where you can enjoy snacks, lunch and dinner or just lounge on the terrace and watch the beautiful people or the glorious sunset while sipping a cocktail. At sunset, DJs begin to play and dancing under the stars becomes the focus until the small hours of the following morning. Mauritius has extraordinarily little nightlife, so, if you enjoy partying after dinner, this is the place.

Indoor restaurant and bar area is sheltered by thatched roof with a wood and stone décor, rattan chairs, sofas, ceiling fans and a golden glow from low hanging lights. Outdoors there are decked terraces plus tables and low sofas set into the sand. After sunset, palm trees are lit up with small lights to add to the party ambiance.

Mixologists, trained by Buddha-Bar professionals, are on hand to create cocktails to appeal to the five senses. Expect aromatic and spicy flavours or sweet and sour tastes in picture perfect drinks. Try the Make a Wish Mauritius with Mauritius rum, hibiscus and lemongrass, lime juice, passion fruit and ginger ale or a Summer Garden with gin, hibiscus and ylang ylang. Mixologists are also adept at mixing old school cocktails too such as Negronis and Mojitos. Alongside cocktails you will find a comprehensive list of all spirits, Sake, beers, non-alcoholic drinks and soft drinks.

The menu is a mix of Asian and Mediterranean flavours. All dishes are designed for sharing and are served in large bowls instead of individual plates. Choose from ceviche, sushi, dishes cooked on the grill and seafood. Dishes we have tasted and enjoyed include wasabi shrimp tempura, deep-fried lobster dumplings and tuna tartare. If you enjoy ceviche try the Thai salmon and for sushi our favourites are nigiri sushi and terishake roll. The wagyu beef cooked on robata grill is outstanding as is the miso black cod. However, from what we saw, all dishes look tasty – just remember dishes are large and intended for sharing.

As is usual at a luxury, beach bar – champagne makes up a large part of the wine list and Buddha- Bar Beach is no exception.

We love the outdoor tables on the decked area, under the palm trees and with great ocean and sunset views. Once dinner is finished and the music starts, this is also the place to be for partying. In the daytime, the beach is our preferred spot.
